Recently, our university received the notice of Ministry of Science and Technology forwarded by the Municipal Science & Technology Commission, which recognized 15 units, including the Marine Bioscience International Joint Research Center of our university, as the state level international joint research centers in 2014. This center became the first state level international cooperative research platform of our university.

The International Joint Research Center was established with the purpose of giving full play to the international scientific and technological cooperation in stimulating and promoting the expansion of scientific and technological cooperation, improving the quality and level of China in terms of international scientific and technological cooperation, developing the international scientific and technological cooperation mode combining project - talent - base, making the center a mainstay in the national utilization of global scientific and technological resources and the expansion of the external influence of science and technology, and playing a leading and demonstrating role in the development of regional international scientific and technological cooperation.

The Marine Bioscience International Joint Research Center was jointly established by our university and internationally famous scientific research institutions, including Portugal University of the Algarve CCMAR Marine Biological Research Center, International Antarctic Analysis Center, Michigan State University, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, University of Maine, University of Guam, Auburn University, University of Stirling and Ghent University.

Guided by the national demands and with a view to the cutting edge of international scientific researches on marine organism, pelagic fishery and aquaculture, through the mode of bringing in and going out and complementary advantages and cooperative development, this center establishes a long-term partnership with world first class research institutions, delivers high-starting-point and high quality research achievements, aims to play a leading and demonstrating role in the international scientific and technological cooperation on domestic seas, and creates a home leading and world first class platform for the great-leap-forward development of Chinese marine disciplines and the training of international high-level talents.
