On August 27, Ecuador congressman Mr. Edgar Eduardo and consul of Ecuador Consulate, among others, paid a visit to Shanghai Ocean University, accompanied by Mr. Wang Zhiping from Latin America Aquaculture Association.

Vice President Li Jiale briefed the guests on the history, development situation and disciplines of our university, as well as the history and achievements of aquaculture development in China. Mr. Edgar Eduardo introduced Ecuador marine resources and aquaculture situations, spoke highly of our achievements the aquaculture sector, and hoped that our university could give technical support to Ecuador seawater and freshwater aquaculture. Both parties also entered into in-depth discussions on personnel training in aquaculture, marine environmental protection and others, and reached consensus on promoting university-industry cooperation and collaborative scientific research in seawater aquaculture and marine organism protection.

During the visit, the guests also visited the R&D platform and related laboratories of recirculating aquaculture system of College of Fisheries and Life Science and highly valued our hi-tech facilities.
