According to the document of Shanghai Science and Technology Committee (STCSM) (No.458 [2018] Issued by STCSM), the project applied by professor Bai Zhiyi of the College of Fisheries and Life Science of SHOU for Shanghai Young Academic Research Leader Program had been granted. This is the first time that a teacher of SHOU is elected under Shanghai Young Academic Research Leader Program, one of the most influential talent programs of Shanghai Science and Technology Committee (STCSM).

In 2017, professor Bai Zhiyi was elected to the post of Anodonta germplasm resources & variety improvement of the national shellfish industrial technology system; in 2014, he was granted the third prize of the 14th Henry Fok Ying-Tung Young Faculty Award; in 2012, he was elected into “Shanghai Rising-star Program (Class A)”; in 2011 and 2014, he was elected as “Petrel Scholar” and “Seagull Scholar” of SHOU, respectively; in 2008, he was elected as “Chen Guang Scholar”. In 2008, the project “Key Technologies on the New Variety Breeding and Aquaculture of Freshwater Pearl Mussel”, in which he had been a participant and the fifth accomplisher, was granted the first prize of Shanghai Award for Science and Technology Progress. Professor Bai Zhiyi has published 68 academic papers (as the first author or corresponding author of 24 papers), taken part in the compilation of 3 monographs, and obtained 11 authorized patents (including 7 invention patents).
