At 14:00 of April 24, Zhu Yuanding, the first original master work carefully orchestrated by SHOU and Shanghai Theatre Academy with half a year of devotion and hard work, made its debut in SHOU.

Zhu Yuanding, a well-known ichthyologist and fisheries educator and one of the founders of ichthyology in China, served as Professor, Dean and Honorary Dean of Shanghai Fisheries College (now renamed SHOU). In the late 1920s, notwithstanding the abundant fishery resources in China, the researchers were mainly foreigners. To change that situation, Zhu Yuanding gave up entomology, a discipline he had devoted years of time and energy, and shifted to ichthyology. In his lifetime, he discovered 4 new subfamilies, 10 new genuses, and 48 new species, and published 64 ichthyology-related monographs and papers (amounting to a total of more than five million characters). He also compiled Fish Index in China (the first ichthyology monograph in China), Ichthyography in China, and many other works, discovered “Yuanding Bones”, and made major contributions to ichthyology.
