On the morning of May 8, the 7th China-Nordic Arctic Cooperation Symposium was grandly inaugurated at SHOU. This symposium was themed by “Arctic Fisheries, Polar Silk Road, and Sustainable Development Practice”. More than 100 people attended the symposium, including scientific researchers, experts, scholars, and government officials from China, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Russia, Canada, the US, and many other countries. Opening speeches were given by Yang Huigen, Director of Polar Research Institute of China; Cheng Yudong, President of SHOU; and Chen Danhong, Sub-inspector of the Chinese Arctic and Antarctic Administration of State Oceanic Administration.
