On May 15, 2018 Shanghai Science and Technology Awards Conference was held at Shanghai Exhibition Center. The project Research and Applications of Key Technologies on the Sustainable Use of Euphausua superba Resources, of which SHOU is the third accomplisher, won the first prize of Shanghai Award for Science and Technology Progress; Zhu Guoping and Xu Liuxiong of the College of Marine Science were the third and sixth accomplishers, respectively. Focusing on tackling hard-nut problems related to the basic biology of Euphausua superba, the organization of resource assessment, the increase of fishing efficiency, the implementation of international performance, and so forth, the project has achieved a series of innovative results with key technologies, effectively expanded the operation space of our pelagic fishery, strengthened the discourse power of our country over marine affairs, and safeguarded our marine rights and interests.

In addition, the project Research and Applications of Key Technologies on the Sustainable Use of Euphausua superba Resources also won the “Fishery Innovation Award” established for the first time by the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences in 2018.
