On the afternoon of June 5, the appointment ceremony of famous composer Mr. Chen Gang as Part-time Professor of the College of Marine Culture and Law of SHOU was held at the multi-function hall of the Labor Union. Present at the ceremony were Zheng Weidong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Director of the Propaganda Department; and responsible persons of the Department of Personnel and the College of Marine Culture and Law.

After the appointment ceremony, Chen gave a special lecture entitled Voices of Shanghai: Old Songs of Shanghai, Our Unforgettable Memories, which attracted more than 100 teachers and students. Taking Shanghai-style culture as the entry point, Chen performed different versions of Rose Rose I Love You as an example to explain Shanghai’s musical culture (prominent features and great breadth) from six dimensions, that is, pitch, range, tempo, brightness, precision, and temperature.
