On June 6, the final of the 11th National Marine Knowledge Contest (University Student Unit) was successfully concluded in Sanya. The contest was sponsored by State Oceanic Administration (SOA), the Central Committee of the Communist Young League, and the Political Department of the People's Liberation Army Navy, and undertaken by the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ocean Press, the Polar Investigation Office of State Oceanic Administration (SOA), China Ocean Mineral Resources R & D Association, and Hainan Broadcasting Group. SHOU student Wei Wenbo won the first prize, the best achievement of SHOU in this event.

In the “30/60 Promotion Event” held on May 31, SHOU student Wei Wenbo made the list of top 30 as the 11th seed, and further made the list of national top ten as No.1 in group A in the “10/30 Promotion Event”. In the “Top Ten Debut” held on June 3, Wei Wenbo continued to go ahead steadily and surely; relying on his rich knowledge reserve and excellent performance, he eventually won the first prize with the sixth highest score in the “Top Ten Final” held on June 5.

This contest fully showed the young presence, rich knowledge, and solid skills of SHOU students, and the results of the all-round talent training advocated by SHOU in Double First-class construction. We encourage more students to join the contest, and create new glories for SHOU!
