On November 19, the Release Meeting of Statistical Data of Chinese S&T Papers, held in Beijing, announced the 2018 list of “100 Outstanding Academic Journals of China”. The Journal of Fisheries of China was re-elected.

The list of “100 Outstanding Academic Journals of China” is prepared through comprehensive appraisal by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China based on various scientometrics indices of more than 2,000 journals of statistic source included in Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citation Database. There are 112 disciplines in the field of natural sciences, which means that not every discipline can have its own top 100 outstanding academic journals. In the selection process, the first step is to select the most important journals in various disciplines as outstanding academic journals, and then “100 Outstanding Academic Journals of China” are chosen from these candidates. This is the 16th time that the Journal of Fisheries of China ranks among “100 Outstanding Academic Journals of China”.
