On October 26, the 40th Anniversary of the Chinese Society of Oceanography and International Ocean Science Biennial Conference 2019 & Ocean Science and Technology Awards Ceremony, themed by “Scientific and technological innovation promoting high-quality development of blue economy”, were held in Sanya, Hainan Province. SHOU Vice President Wan Rong and teachers from the Office of Science and Technology and related colleges attended the event.

The project Research and Demonstration of Tuna Seining Equipment and Critical Technologies, directed by professor Xu Liuxiong of the College of Marine Science, won the first prize. The project Critical Technologies for the Remediation of Typical Seaweed Beds in the East China Sea and Demonstration of Ecological Function Applications, directed by professor Zhang Shouyu of the College of Marine Ecology and Environment, won the second prize. After preliminary evaluation and re-evaluation, 2018 Ocean Science and Technology Awards presented a total of 10 first prizes, 30 second prizes, and 17 excellent marine science and technology books.
